Gellert Grindelwald was a wizard who was born in 1883. He lived in Europe at a time when many wizards were hated and feared because of the rise of the Nazis. He was a brilliant young wizard who was a big fan of Carl Jung, a psychologist who believed that there is no such thing as absolute truth. Grindelwald believed that it would be possible to bend people’s minds into believing what he wanted them to believe, even if they were in the wrong. He thought that it would be easier to control people through their thoughts than through violence, which he believed was too messy and potentially dangerous.
