Carpenter's Career
Carpenter's first big role was as Kacey Simon on the TV series, The Wonder Years. She played the younger version of Fred Savage's character, Kevin Arnold. According to Carpenter, she got the part through her manager, who knew that Carpenter's mother was a big fan of the show. She played Kevin for three seasons before she left the series to pursue other projects.
After she left The Wonder Years, Carpenter appeared in the made-for-TV movie, The Princess Diaries. The Princess Diaries was a series that debuted in 2001 and followed Mia Thermopolis, a high school student who discovers that she is actually a royal princess named Mia Thermopolis. Carpenter played Lily Bart, a character who gives Mia advice during her time in the royal family.
