Prinz Eugen personality type is ENTP, as was the illustrious Admiral Graf Spee. The design of the ship was a highly unusual one, as it was a hybrid between a cruiser and a heavy cruiser, being a larger version of the smaller Admiral Scheer. Despite being a larger ship, it could not be classified as a heavy cruiser owing to the fact that it was too short to be a cruiser and too long to be a heavy cruiser.
The ship was designed by Aktien-Gesellschaft Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinenbau AG (AGD) at their Bremen shipyard, and was laid down in 1938.
The design of the ship was based on the design of the German cruisers Admiral Graf Spee and Admiral Scheer. The last of these ships were built by AGD, and the first two were built by Schichau-Werke AG, another German shipyard. The keel of the ship was laid on 7 November 1938 and the ship was launched on 15 July 1939 and completed on 19 July 1940, at which time she was commissioned into service as the main German fleet oiler and supply ship.
