Hastur/The Yellow King personality type is ENFP, the only type that really fits in with all of the things that makes the book so memorable. The only problem is that it doesn't really make sense. I mean, sure, the book screws with you enough to make you think that maybe the character is crazy, but if it were an ENFP, why would they be so afraid of being seen? Why would they be so afraid of their own thoughts? Why would they be so willing to die, even if it meant that they wouldn't get into Hell? I mean, I guess it all makes sense in the end, but I don't think it's really the way that you're supposed to read this book. It's kind of like if you read a book about a bunch of ENFPs, but all of them are on different medications simultaneously. They're saying all this stuff, but it doesn't actually make any sense.
The story basically has this guy who has all these evil thoughts in his head, and he kills people for no reason. He gets into Hell because he killed some people, and then he kills more people while he's in Hell.
