Loial personality type is ISFJ, which is a very rare personality type. In contrast to the average ISTP, however, Loial appears to have a much more developed sense of morality and ethics, to the point where he is almost obsessively so. Loial is an icon to the point where people who share his personality type have been nicknamed the "Loial Lovers" by fans.
Loial is a fairly silent character, often getting into arguments with Rand before he begins to speak. He has a strong moral code, being one of the few characters in the series who can be seen to temporarily abandon his friends for the greater good of the world. Loial is also one of the few characters in the series who has not been nearly killed or maimed.
"The Path of Daggers" reveals that Loial can channel, which can be seen in "The Gathering Storm". He is also the only Asha'man to have his own Asha'man symbol, which was designed by Harriet McDougal.
