Dream pop duo The Cranberries formed in Limerick, Ireland in the late 1980s. They had several hits in the 1990s, including "Linger" (1994), "Zombie" (1995), "Dreams" (1994), and "When You're Gone" (1997). Their sound has been compared to that of The Smiths or Depeche Mode. The band broke up in 2003 after singer Dolores O'Riordan died in a plane crash in London.
