My whole life, I've always loved music. My family are all musicians, and they're all great. From the time I was a kid, my dad taught me to play guitar. I've always loved that, but I never thought I'd be able to do it professionally. I didn't want to go to college, I wanted to do music. I love learning new things. When I got to music school, it was the best opportunity ever. But even though I was learning, I was always more interested in writing songs than playing instruments. It was very difficult for me to find a job doing music, but that's what I wanted to do.
Music has helped me through some really tough times in my life. When my grandfather died, I wrote a song for him called 'The World Stopped Turning' and it was the first time that I realized how important music is to me. It's something that can help people connect with each other and it was so nice to know that I could bring my feelings about something to the world.
