BTS - Rain personality type is INFP, the irrational function. Jung would call this a counterphobic reaction to a traumatic experience. Jung called this a “concomitant function”, which he thought represented the opposite pole to the dominant function. So, I think it's likely that BTS use Rain as a way to focus their irrational thoughts and emotions.
In Jungian terms, Rain is a “subconscious” function. In other words, it's usually unconscious and quickly returns to “sleep”. The INFP doesn't think much about it, and it's almost as if it doesn't exist. However, it can become active in a crisis. It can become a very useful “tool” for the INFP to use to effect a change in attitude or to keep from feeling overwhelmed or helpless by emotions or events.
In this way, Rain can be used as a tool to understand oneself and what one needs to do to make changes in life. It can be used as a “light switch” for the INFP to turn off certain emotions and impulses.
The irrational functions are about healing and growth, so don't think of Rain as something negative.
