Introverted Idealism is a rare character type that is often misunderstood. I've noticed that most people tend to think of "idealism" as being a person who is naive or idealistic, and this is generally not the case. Idealism can be a positive trait, not a negative one.
The problem comes in when we overthink the INTJ's motivations. They are no more "idealistic" than any other character type. They simply have a higher capacity for idealism, and this is a strength.
Their problem comes in when they confuse idealism with naivety.

I think it's important to remember that INTJs are very practical and realistic people. They are not naive in the sense of being wishy-washy and impractical with their ideas. They are not very unrealistic with regards to the world. They are very straightforward, direct, and practical people.
