Jahan Lennon - Can't Ruin My Fun personality type is ENTP, but I don't think (and I'm pretty sure...) that it's a good fit for me. I wasn't really on board with being an ENTP until I read a book called "The Secret Life of the INTP". The author posits that ENTPs are "the only type that can actually be wrong." This is exactly how I feel. The following are my biases, which I hope have been refuted.

Be empathetic and understanding.
I know this is a little bit contradictory with the concept of being wrong, but it's one of the most important things you can do as a counselor. Just because someone is wrong, doesn't mean they're trying to be wrong. It just means they see things differently than you. A good counselor will be able to empathize with the client's point of view while simultaneously explaining to them why they're wrong.
If you can do this then you've set yourself up for success as a counselor. If you can't then you will most certainly fail as a counselor.
