I guess I understand why a lot of people are like, “Greece is great!” But I don’t know what I was expecting. It is different from anything I’ve seen in Europe and I like that.
I’m not Greek and I don’t know anything about Greece. I just wanted to go there for my research. I wanted to meet the people and understand their culture. It’s quite different from what I expected, but in a positive way.
I love the idea of Greek culture. It’s warm and free, it’s welcoming. It makes you feel welcome from the first moment, not like, “Oh can we charge your credit card now?” [Laughs].
I think the most interesting thing about Greece is the food because, even though it isn’t as beautiful as Italy, there’s a lot of Mediterranean food.
