The 1975 is an English Pop-Rock band that was formed in Bournemouth, Dorset (UK) in 2009.
The group consists of lead singer and songwriter Matthew Healy, guitarist Adam Hann, drummer George Daniel, and bassist Ross MacDonald.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Healy said "...I'm so much more confident as a songwriter now. I feel like I've been writing for a long time, but I've really started to hone the craft and put the finishing touches on some of the songs that I've been writing."
The band started out as a solo project of Healy who posted a demo on a website. The demo got a lot of attention and the band was eventually signed to a major record label, Polydor Records. The group released their first studio album called "Facedown" on 12 March 2013 which featured the singles "Sincerity Is Scary" and "A Change of Heart". In 2015, the band released "The 1975" on 27 August through Fiction Records. The album features the single "Chocolate".
