Gwendolyn's first appearance in fanfiction involves her and her older brother, Edward, as the two of them discuss their parents' death, which Edward blames on their mother. Gwendolyn attempts to comfort him, but he claims that her mother would have been better off if she'd died, rather than live with the guilt of what she did. Gwendolyn does not agree with him, but she doesn't say this aloud. She does write a letter to her mother at this time, saying that even though she can't forgive her for what she did, she is still glad that she is no longer suffering.
Later on, Gwendolyn helps Edward try to find a way to bring their parents back to life by seeking the help of an occultist named Isabella. This leads the girls to Isabella's house, where they are attacked by a demon. Gwendolyn is knocked out by the demon, but is able to wake up in time to see Edward kill the demon with a cross. Gwendolyn is shocked at this, but she agrees with Edward that it is necessary.
