The neighbourhood - Scary Love personality type is ENTP, and the name - it's a play on a song by The White Stripes as well as a nod to the book "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. I love the way my friends have interpreted the name, and it's a name that I get to call my own.
It's taken me a while to get around to the actual tattooing process, but I'm pleased with how it's turned out. The tattoo says "I love you" in Japanese, and "Scary Love" in English. The rest of the tattoo is an homage to my love for Japan. The first thing you notice about the tattoo is a festival mask - it's an egg-shaped mask used during mask festivals at the end of May. It represents fertility and new beginnings, and is a symbol of luck and prosperity. This year marks my four year anniversary in Japan, and I'm excited to mark this occasion with a new piece of art on my body.
I want my tattoo to be something that signifies me, but that also tells my story. I think it needs to be something that reminds me of everything that I have learned throughout the years, and something that holds a lot of meaning for me personally.
