TUYU - “Trapped in the Past” personality type is ISTJ, which is about as close as you can get to pure representation of the type. It’s like they’re living inside a box, and they can’t move or develop outside that box. If that’s the case, then what’s the point of the box?
I think of ISTJ as the hardest, most “boxy” type to read. They need to be told what to do, they have to have rules, and don’t even try to think beyond them. They are super cautious, super logical, and super straight-forward. They are the most goal-oriented, they are the most reliable, and the most dependable.
ISTJs are so set in their ways, so they have no flexibility, no room for change. And that’s why they can be so hard to read! They are so reliable, so constant, they are so predictable, that it is hard for people to even recognize that they are actually changing.
ISTJs are actually very sensitive people, but I don’t think enough people recognize that.
