Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles
    ISFP

    ISFP (4w3)

Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles personality type is ISFP, "The Artist". I had this type as one of my "distant" relationships (the closest being my best friend). Vanessa is the creative type. She creates things, she sings, she draws, she dances, she makes films, she acts, she paints, she designs clothes. It is hard to believe that all of this is happening at once. My best friend has all of these talents and they are all creative. What's the difference? Well, my best friend is introverted, creative, quiet, creative, quiet, creative, quiet. She's the most creative person I know. Vanessa is an extrovert who loves talking, singing, dancing, acting, making films, painting. She's creative with her hands too. I always admired her talent but couldn't relate. I knew she didn't think I was creative at all. Vanessa has the most creative talent I have ever seen. I was exposed to her creative pursuits but not to her extrovert qualities. I was exposed to her extrovert qualities but not to her creative ones. Although I was exposed to both types of qualities in her, I never had the opportunity to develop my own creative side.

“A Thousand Miles” (originally titled “Interlude”) is the debut single of American pop singer Vanessa Carlton. Produced by Curtis Schweitzer and Ron Fair, the song was released as the lead single for Carlton's album Be Not Nobody (2002). Her signature song, it became Carlton's breakthrough hit and one of the most popular songs of the year. To date, it remains Carlton's biggest hit in the United States, and her only single to reach the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number five.

The song was highly acclaimed by music critics. Billboard magazine opined, "it's the song's classical-tied piano hook that endures with urgency throughout the song that lends it spectacular charm, along with the artist's vulnerable vocal style… A truly auspicious opening." Most other critics gave Be Not Nobody mixed reviews, but generally praised the song. “A Thousand Miles” continues to receive regular rotation on Adult Contemporary and Adult Top 40 radio stations.
