A: Well, I spent a lot of time in my twenties, when I was starting to make it as a songwriter, just writing, writing and writing and getting things done. A crazy dreamer would just keep writing and writing and writing and never finish anything. I had the belief, "I'm going to make it, I'm going to get there". Then one day, when I was in my early 30s, one of my songs came out and it wasn't that good. I didn't have the confidence that I could do anything else. But now I can see that if I had kept going, I could have written a lot of great songs. It's like the difference between being a kid and being a teenager, you want to do all sorts of crazy things.
