The Beatles - Get Back is an introspective movie about the Beatles' last concert in 1966. Based on the book of the same title by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, it focuses on the individual relationships between the members of the Beatles before and after the band's breakup. The film opens with a shot of a car at dawn driving down a desolate country road, followed by a tracking shot of the Beatles' limousine pulling up to Abbey Road Studios. The Beatles are having breakfast in their hotel suite, reading The Sunday Times. Paul McCartney enters the room, dressed in a suit, carrying a briefcase. McCartney tells Ringo Starr that he will be leaving the group after the concert, citing that he is no longer able to write songs for John Lennon's music. He then hands Ringo his guitar, telling him to take it easy. He then leaves the room.
As Ringo leaves his room to join the other members in the recording studio, he finds a cassette tape in his mailbox. He listens to it before putting it away in his pocket. The tape is from Yoko Ono, who was recently married to Lennon.
