I'm Jonathan, a 30-year-old INFJ living in the East Coast. I'm an engineer by day and a writer by night. INFJ has been my personality type since I was in high school (about 10 years). It took me a while to get to this site, but it's because I wanted to find out how INFJs like me are different than other people, and what we're like in private. As you can see, I'm a pretty big geek, and I like to think of myself as a high-functioning autistic type. INFJs are quiet and contemplative, but with an inner curiosity that drives us to seek knowledge and understand others. We're often very empathetic and caring towards others, which can make us very sensitive and people-oriented. We're usually good at expressing our thoughts and feelings, but we tend to intellectualize our emotions. We're often quite idealistic and may live in a fantasy world, but we're also capable of deep introspection. We have a strong need for security, which causes us to be very loyal and protective towards others, especially those we feel deserve our respect.
