He is on the top of his class in school and is a genius inventor who created a number of impressive tools for use in combat, including a device that allows him to teleport through Makai. He also created a device that can disrupt the power source of a Makai Gate, a device that was used to fight against the Makai Knight.
While his past is unknown, Mashido has a certain sense of morality. He took it upon himself to stop the Makai Knight from taking over the world by allying himself with the Makai Priests from the village of Makai.
In the manga, Mashido was a student at Jougai High School. He was a member of the science club, but he wasn't very good at science because he was too focused on his inventions to be bothered with it. However, one day, he discovered that there were problems with the power supply of the Makai Gate.
