Sora is first seen when he, Donald Duck, and Goofy enter the castle of Ansem the Wise, the King of the Keyblade wielders. They find him sleeping until he is woken by Riku, who tells him to hurry up before the door closes. As Sora sets off, Riku gives him his new Keyblade, Destiny's Embrace.
Sora meets again with Riku, Donald, and Goofy in an empty room upstairs from Ansem's lab.
