One such friend was the president of the school's anime club, who convinced Freddy to join the club even though he was still struggling academically. Freddy's interest in anime gradually grew into a love for the medium, and he started making his own anime shorts just for fun.
Freddy's first animation project was an anime short about a cat and its owner, and he struggled mightily to complete it. The short was very short and poorly animated, but it got the attention of the club's president who convinced Freddy to continue animating anime shorts.
