He dislikes conflict and prefers to avoid it whenever possible. This is why he’s so good at playing the game of thrones. He’s a strategist and a tactician and loves to be in control, but he dislikes conflict and is always looking for ways to avoid it. This is why he has such a hard time with Tyrion. Tywin is a man who likes to be in charge, even if that means that he must use violence to get what he wants.
This is also why Tywin dislikes his daughter Cersei so much. He didn’t want her to marry Joffrey – a man who was a complete jerk – and now she’s married to a complete jerk too.
