Henri Martin personality type is INFP, which means I am an Idealist. I am also an introvert, by the way, which means that the combination of the two gives me a rather different way of interacting with others than other INFPs.
I think the thing about the Idealist personality type is that while they do see things in terms of “right” and “wrong,” they also understand that the world is mostly gray. So, while they will be ethical, they will also be ethical pragmatically, balancing the needs of their family, friends, and society with their own ideals.
I’m not sure if this makes it less true… but let me explain.
An idealist sees things holistically. They will see things in terms of the whole because it’s what they want to see. They want to see the whole. And they will often describe things in terms of idealistic ideals, things like “the truth,” or “the good,” or “the beauty,” or “the beauty in life.” They are rarely satisfied with just seeing things in terms of the bad or the ugly.
