I have found that the most common question I get from those who have not yet been able to “get” the Myers-Briggs personality types is: “How is it that someone with a Type 4 function can be a creative genius?”
The answer lies in the fact that, as I have pointed out above, Type 4 functions are often able to have a great creative output because their Type 5 functions are creative as well. In other words, creative Type 5 functions can often fill in for Type 4 functions’ weaker creative outlets.
Once you know the differences between the four types, you can better understand why people are the way they are and what makes them tick.
