Yukimitsu was found by a kindly old man who took him in. It's unknown exactly how much he remembers of the past or how much he remembers of what happened with his father.
The old man maintained his childhood innocence and kept him sheltered, but Yukimitsu was never allowed to leave the house.
The old man did not allow him to talk to anyone. He became obsessed with keeping Yukimitsu safe and dedicated to his job, but that obsession became no less than a prison for Yukimitsu.
He was only allowed to leave the house to do his job, which was to gather a special type of mushrooms that only grew near rivers and trees.
