Jeff Abel is the charismatic top dog of the post-Skrillex dubstep scene, and leads the community with a loving and fun hand. Abel began making music in the early 2000s, on the label he created known as Rottun Records. Abel quickly gained attention from fellow producer Joel "deadmau5" Zimmerman, who signed a deal with him to release his first EP, "X Rated" which featured two other massive artists of the time, Tom "SKisM" Petais and the now disgraced "Datsik". The EP was a hit, and Abel's popularity skyrocketed. Following up X Rated was a remix EP, featuring artists that would grow to become close friends of Abel, such as Ian "Space Laces" Slider, and "Dirtyphonics". His following releases would go on to shake up the scene again and again, with his first studio album, "Codename X" being regarded by many fans as one of the best classic dubstep albums of all time. Excision didn't stop there, and has gone on to create two festivals of his own, with massive followings and huge budgets.
