I was more of a daydreamer in high school. I wrote short stories, mainly. I spent most of my time reading books and playing video games. I was more of a loner, so I didn’t have many friends.
But I also got good grades, even though I found school hard. I had to stretch myself to keep up with my peers.
Starting out in the film business wasn’t easy, either. It was the ’80s, and it was a hard time to get into the business if you didn’t have connections.
I had to go on lots of auditions, and some were really horrible experiences.
But if you’re persistent, it can work out. And I am very persistent.
I was 17 when I started my first company. My father taught me how to do it properly. He said, you need to start at the bottom and work your way up.
And that’s what I did.
