Vex'ahlia was born in the city of Ilithi on the planet Ilithi. Her father was a soldier in the Ilithi Military.
During Vex's childhood, her father was fatally wounded in battle. The trauma of this left an immense effect on Vex, who became very withdrawn and cold, lashing out at others when she was angry.
She also developed a habit of writing down her dreams in a notebook, in which she recorded her visions of herself in battle. She has said that these dreams are still vivid in her mind, though she does not remember them.
Her mother died in her arms when Vex was young, leaving her with a crippling fear of death.
She had a brother named Jori, who she adored greatly. They were extremely close, but he died during the battle of Ilithi.
