What is the personality type of Dobby? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Dobby from Harry Potter Book Series and what is the personality traits.
Dobby personality type is INFP, so he's very idealistic and sensitive, and he's also a bit of a doormat. JKR was originally planning to have Harry be a childlike genius who was too stupid to understand his own magic, and Dobby was originally going to be a servant and help Harry to be more powerful.
But then, Rowling changed her mind and Harry became more like himself. And that's because Dobby has a sort of "childlike quality" that I don't think Harry has. Remember that Dobby is an elf, and he's very short and round, and he's kind of stupid (he's the only person who knew about Harry's scar), and he's also very gosh-darn loyal, and JKR has said that she really loves Dobby. I think she wanted to make him nicer than he is, but she realized it would be hard to do so. Dobby is undoubtedly the most sympathetic character in the books, so I know she'd have to have done something special with him.
Dobby (28 June (year unknown) – March, 1998) was a male house-elf who served the Malfoy family. His masters were Dark Wizards who treated him cruelly. In 1992 he disobeyed his masters and tried to warn Harry Potter of the plot to have the Chamber of Secrets reopened. He came to know this via the contact between his masters and Lord Voldemort. At the end of that school year, after Harry had vanquished the memory of Tom Riddle and slayed the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, he tricked Lucius Malfoy into freeing Dobby. Harry accomplished this by placing T. M. Riddle's Diary inside his own sock. Lucius disgustedly ripped the sock off the book and threw the sock into the air, where Dobby caught it.
