This is the short version of Captain Mike's story.
Captain Mike’s life began in a small village in the middle of nowhere. He was born to a poor family and no one expected anything to come of him. He was a very poor and uneducated child, and his parents treated him like a younger brother because he was the only child they had. He had no friends, and no one to play with. When he got to be a little older, he began working to help his father with their meager income of farming, carpentry, and mending clothing. At this point, he had learned how to use an axe, but he didn't understand the value of hard work. His parents were poor, but they still expected him to do all of the hard labor of farming and carpentry. At the age of nineteen he had more money than he did at eighteen, but his parents still expected him to work more than anyone else in the village. He wanted nothing more than to leave this town and be free, but he had no idea what to do. After some time, he decided to leave on his own.
