Caroline is an extremely good actress and can appear very convincing in virtually any scenario, making it difficult for people to decipher her true intentions. She is also a very cool and collected person who is never afraid to voice her opinion and isn't afraid to use her intelligence to do so. When she first met Peter, she saw how much he needed a friend, and so she tried to be nice to him. However, when he got drunk, he started acting like an ass and she realized that he wasn't a great friend at all.
After she found out about his relationship with Jess, she decided to try and be friends with Jess, but after Jess and Peter broke up, she didn't try to be friends with her anymore.
