Dontos Hollard personality type is ESFP, so he was probably an ESTJ for all his life before the war. To him, his house was his country. A soldier cannot be expected to do very much without having a home to return to. It's not enough to be a good soldier, you have to be a good soldier at home as well, because your home is your country. That's one reason why I think Jon is an ESTJ. He has a very strong sense of duty and responsibility, but he also doesn't suffer fools gladly. He knows what's important. "A king must be able to defend his realm." What does he mean by that? That you cannot pass your word on the king, but you must keep your word. The sense of duty is part of the ESTJ personality type. Jon is very much aware of the difference between what's important and what's trivial. You can see it in his actions at the Wall, which are dictated by his sense of duty, but he doesn't have to be a fool about it either. He's not just going along with things just because they're convenient or because he thinks following orders is what's important.
