Biography
Illyrio was born on the planet Dathomir. Her parents were members of the Nightsisters. Illyrio's parents both died in an attack by the Sith that wiped out the entire family line. Illyrio was taken as a slave by the Nightsisters, but she escaped and fled Dathomir. She was picked up by the New Jedi Order and trained as a Jedi by Master Cin Drallig. She became a padawan of Master Drallig until he died. She was later promoted to Jedi Master, and she quickly formed a relationship with her padawan, Khaleen Hentz. She later became pregnant with her son, Loras Tyrell.
Character arc
In search of the Jedi Temple, the Jedi Council asked Master Drallig to lead them to where the Temple was located. He took the Jedi to the statues of the nine moons that formed the nine moons of Yavin.
Illyrio Mopatis is a recurring character in the first season. He is played by guest star Roger Allam and debuts in the series premiere. In the unaired pilot episode he was played by Ian McNeice, but due to a scheduling conflict the role was recast when the pilot was re-shot. Illyrio Mopatis is a Magister of Pentos and a supporter of House Targaryen.
