Jeanlin Maheu personality type is ISTP, as described in Chapter 2. Maheu was a master of this type who, obviously, has been able to keep a cool head, despite the fact that he was a very young man when he held his first positions in several military positions. The fact that he was able to maintain a “clear mind” during his first tour of duty (as a young lieutenant) in the First World War, when his unit was surrounded, shows us that Maheu had a very strong personality, which can be seen in the fact that he was able to retain his intuition, despite the stress of constant battle and the loss of several friends. This is shown in his decision to continue to fight in the First World War, as well as in his decision to return to the battlefields of the Second World War.
This is not to say that Maheu was calm and rational all the time. Even while he was a young lieutenant of the First World War, Maheu was not so calm and rational. In fact, he was very emotional. In March 1915, Maheu entered the front line, and within six months, he had lost many friends (probably close to 80%).
