Flying Spaghetti Monster personality type is ENTP, which I’ve already discussed in my book. Why do you think he chose the spaghetti monster as his icon?
Because it looks like a noodle. I’m not really sure how that works, but that’s the conclusion I reached when I was a kid.
I’ve seen other personality types who’ve used the spaghetti monster as their icon. What other personality types do you see using it?
I don’t know of any other personality types. I think it’s mostly people who aren’t familiar with how the Myers-Briggs process works.
You mentioned in your book that the spaghetti monster is an archetype. What does that mean?
An archetype is a personification of a complex idea or complex phenomenon. It’s an idea that is sort of abstracted from reality but is still recognizable as an idea. The most famous archetype in the Myers-Briggs classification is the Hero. The Hero is a person who has the potential to do great things for himself or others, but will use that potential to do great things for himself or others. The most famous example of the Hero archetype is Superman.
The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) is the parodical deity of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or Pastafarianism. Pastafarianism is a social movement that promotes a light-hearted view of religion and opposes the teaching of intelligent design and creationism in public schools. According to adherents, Pastafarianism is a "real, legitimate religion, as much as any other". In New Zealand, Pastafarian representatives are authorized to officiate weddings. However, in the United States, a federal court has ruled that the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" is not a real religion. In August 2018 the Dutch Council of State also ruled that Pastafarianism is not a religion.
