I am a very practical person and put a great deal of value on integrity and honesty. I am also generally very quiet, so I tend to be the one who does not talk about myself. In many ways, I am like a character in the movie “A Christmas Carol” who never speaks, and that is how I want to be known.
After I graduated from high school, my mother worked as a high school teacher and later as an elementary school teacher. She retired after 35 years of service. She has taught at three different high schools in my home town, and her methods are known throughout the area. She was also a member of the local PTA, and served on the executive board twice.
My mother was also on the board of a retirement community and a group that works with families who have children with special needs. She was a member of the local Kiwanis Club. She is also a member of her church and has served on their board several times.
My mother is a very good cook and has created some wonderful dishes for our family. She still makes her own soap from scratch, and her homemade vanilla extract is wonderful.
