Toby Damon personality type is ENFP, however I've heard many ENFP's are not very Toby Damon. I know one guy, who is an ENFP, who doesn't have the Toby Damon personality.
I think the most important thing to remember is that it's not about being an ENFP or an SP, but how you use your strengths. I've found the best way to do this is to just be myself, and go with the flow of my emotions. I've found that being introverted, I'm at my best when I'm alone, or in a small group, with others who are also introverted. I feel more comfortable in these situations. But if I'm surrounded by people who are extroverted, I can feel drained. I'm not saying that one type is better than the other. Just that the Toby Damon personality is more comfortable in an extroverted environment.
I'm still finding my way through the ENFP personality type, but I think you're right, it's not about being an ENFP or an SP. It's about using your strengths.
