You call yourself a “control freak,” but you have said that you are not perfectionistic. How do you describe yourself?
I have a healthy respect for perfectionism. I don't have an unhealthy respect for perfectionism, but I advocate for myself to get things done in a timely manner. I think it's important to get things done in a timely manner. Sometimes if I'm working on something, I will get frustrated if it isn't done in a timely manner, but I don't think it's unhealthy. I think it's healthy to be productive.
Any advice for other people who are parents of creative kids?
I would say that creativity is a gift that comes from nurture, not nature. It's really important to nurture the creative side of your child.
