John Doe/William Blackburn personality type is ISTP, even though I’ve never been labeled as such in any of my journeys. That’s because I never really fit, and I had to create my own label.
In my opinion, the ISTP profile is entirely different from the INTP profile, even though there are some similarities between them.
They are similar in that they are both “artisans,” but the ISTP is more of a “craftsman” than an “artist.”
The ISTP is very focused on their work. They want to make something of great quality that they can pass on to others. They want to create something people will be able to learn from, not just look at and admire.
The ISTP is always looking for ways to improve their techniques, and they will take shortcuts if they think it will help them finish their task much faster. They are also very analytical, and they enjoy figuring out how things work.
This contrasts with the INTP, who is very curious and inquisitive, but they also have a very hard time focusing on one task. They get bored easily and will start to drift off into other ideas.
