That’s why in the second episode, when Tokimiya gives up his seat to someone who needs it more, he definitely doesn’t think of it as selfish. It’s just that, if he’s in the seat, the person in the seat is hurting.
But he still thinks that thought.
To summarize, this is character trait. You can also see it in the third episode when he tells his crush that he still loves her after all these years. But even if he has these thoughts, he still does what he thinks is right. He doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong.
