Krampus – The INFP Krampus Story

INFPs are generally very sensitive, creative and idealistic individuals who struggle with the desire to please others. We sometimes have problems with our self-esteem and can be easily hurt if we feel we have let someone down.

This sometimes leads us to have a strong hatred of those who behave badly and cause us hurt. We are also highly empathetic and can often feel the pain of others more than others feel it themselves. This can lead us to be very affectionate people who want to help and give to others but are often misunderstood by others.

When it comes to our relationships we are often very vulnerable, trusting, and giving. We will often put our trust in others and be hurt if they don’t return that trust.

Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure, in Alpine folklore, who during the Christmas season scares children who have misbehaved, assisting Saint Nicholas. The pair visit children on the night of the 5th December, and Saint Nicholas rewards the well-behaved children with modest gifts such as oranges, dried fruit, walnuts and chocolate whilst the badly behaved ones only receive punishment with birch rods. The origin of the figure is unclear; some folklorists and anthropologists have postulated it as having pre-Christian origins. In traditional parades and in such events as the Krampuslauf, young men participate dressed as Krampus and attempt to scare the audience with their antics. Such events occur annually in most Alpine towns. Krampus is featured on holiday greeting cards called Krampuskarten. Since 2013, the character has become better known globally, having been portrayed in Hollywood horror films.
