If you tell people often enough and in enough ways that they believe you, you can get them to do things that they don’t want to do. It’s kind of like getting people to do things by lying, except that they’re pretty much in their right mind when they hear this. And they know you’re lying, so it’s not quite as effective.
And sometimes it can be pretty fun. It’s kind of like a game of “red light green light” where you make people think you’re going to say “red light” and then tell them “green light, shithead!” and everyone loves it!
