There’s a lot of action in the story, but it’s not gratuitous. It all serves a purpose. It’s just that each action has to be introduced just so, so the pacing is great. Every action has to be used to advance the plot, but not every action can be used to advance the plot. That’s the hard part.
So this is a good book for people who are into, well, anything. This is a book that everyone can enjoy. It’s for people who are open-minded. It’s for people who are willing to read an extended metaphor about how an emotionally disturbed teenager is able to channel his anger into achieving success in his life.
And, frankly, it’s for people who are willing to read about a character who has a great big chip on his shoulder.
