But with the illness comes the fact that she has to take daily doses of medication to suppress her immune system. So she is very weak and fragile.
Elle loves reading, so when she is given a choice of where to go on her summer holiday, she chooses to go with her best friend Andrea to the Albert Camp. She wants to get away from the city, among the trees and fresh air, where she can forget about her illness for a while.
As with any good book, there is more than meets the eye in this story. Elle’s parents are not exactly perfect. Her Dad is in charge of the finances and he is not doing well. Her Mum is caring for Elle but she has her own problems. She has no idea why she is feeling so sad and she can’t figure out why she is having these bad thoughts when it’s not even important when you are taking your medication.
