I’m not even sure whether Cassie is right about everything, but I can see why some people might say she is. For some, Cassie’s behaviour is so extreme that they think she must be on the spectrum, but I don’t think that is true. Cassie’s behaviour is extreme, but it is the reaction of someone who feels unfairly treated. I don’t think her reaction is extreme enough to be classed as on the autism spectrum.
For me, the most important thing is that the relationship story of Alex and Cassie is one of great love and passion, and it reminds me of the classic romance films. These films are all about the exploration of the world by the two main characters, and they are very romantic films, but they are also films about real life. They tell you what love can be like, they tell you how it is important to be close to the person you love, they tell you how it is important to have different interests that are compatible with each other, and they remind us that love is better than anything else.
