The Jungian Personality Types
The Myers Briggs personality test has been around for a long time. It was created in the early 1900s, and is still very popular today. The MBTI test was developed by Carl G. Jung, who was a famous Swiss psychiatrist. His theory of psychological types was based on his study and observations of thousands of people over the course of his lifetime. He believed that there were different ways that people think and perceive the world (introverted vs. extroverted, sensing vs. intuition, etc.). Jung's theory is based on the ancient idea of archetypes. Archetypes are universal ideas or images that are found in nearly every culture on earth.
