In the USM they have a series of questionnaires that they give people. When I was there they’d show you a lot of films – films about the main character they were testing, films about the society they were testing – and there were a whole bunch of films, and you’d try to imagine yourself as a member of that society, and answer the questions.
The test is quite tough – I can’t remember what it was, but it was 13 or 14 questions, and one of the questions was something like ‘what do you think people look like?’. And I remember literally trying to picture this imaginary person, because I was so used to thinking of myself as this guy who’s very bright, who’s very aware, who’s got a good logical brain.
