Carton personality type is ISFJ, and that the world is emotionally and physically safe. I was very careful in my choice of words when I described the ISFJ in terms of "cabin in the woods," and I would like to clarify that this was not meant to be a pejorative comment about their intuition and their need for privacy.
An ISFJ's greatest challenge is to overcome the tendency to let people in too quickly. They want to be strong and assertive yet they tend to be so afraid of letting people down that they can't always be sure they'll be liked. They may think they know what is best for everyone but if they don't get it then it's all their fault. They can often feel that they've done something wrong without really understanding why, and if they do understand then it makes them feel guilty.
They can be very hard on themselves and need to learn how to ask for forgiveness and let go of their guilt and shame rather than hold onto them.
ISFJ's also tend to hold themselves to a much higher standard than other types. They want to be perfect and to make everyone else happy, but they usually feel it isn't good enough.
