This is why I’m so excited about the Asian American movement and about the Asian American community. As an Asian American, I don’t think I have to put on a face to fit in; I just have to be myself. I believe that’s how you should be treated. You should be who you are and do what you do, and if the American people, people who are not Asian American, can accept it and respect it, then I think that’s great.
I think it’s great that she made a statement like that.
